Bill Egan

Senior Instructional Designer

Bill Egan is a senior instructional designer for Penn State World Campus and currently works at a distance from the surrounding Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area. Bill has worked as the lead instructional designer on a variety of online and hybrid courses for Penn State undergraduate and graduate-level academic programs.

Bill has recently served as a contributing author to a book series related to the changing dynamic of the students being served in higher education. A chapter focused on program and course design strategy was published in Academic Transformation: A Design Approach for the New Majority and a chapter related to student-centered design cases was published in Serving the New Majority Student: Working from Within to Transform the Institution.

Bill has a master of education degree in business education from Bloomsburg University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining the World Campus team, Bill worked as the educational technology and design specialist for a cyber-charter school in Pennsylvania. He was responsible for the educational technology, learning management system, and course development for the online school, serving students in grades 6–12.

Bill is from the Philadelphia area, where he resides with his wife Joanna and daughter Lily. In his free time, he enjoys watching his favorite sports teams, playing lacrosse, and spending time with family and friends.
