Nikki Massaro Kauffman
Nikki Massaro Kauffman has been involved in educational technology since 1998. In her current position, she leads the World Campus Learning Design multimedia team. Nikki uses design thinking and content strategy to design multimedia that is accessible and easy to use for everyone. In addition to focusing on the students’ user experience (UX) with multimedia objects, Nikki considers the faculty and instructional design staff’s authoring experience (AX) for creating multimedia objects for courses.
with the Penn State University Libraries. The position was responsible for coordinating technology training offered in the Libraries’ 20+ departments and 30+ library locations. Over the years, Nikki has been an interim supervisor for educational technologists, a programmer, a multimedia specialist, a database specialist, a Microsoft Certified master instructor, a continuing education instructor for seniors and adults with disabilities, and a high school English and communications technology teacher. She has earned two bachelor of science degrees, one in Computer Science and the other in Education, both with honors.
Coming from a family with three generations of nontraditional learners, Nikki enjoys making course content accessible to World Campus students. As a programmer, a systems designer, a user experience designer, and an educator, her passion is to optimize the web to reach as many learners as possible.
